I can’t figure out how to keep the boot down on the ragtop ‘55 I just received. Right now I just have it sitting on the model. It didn’t come with the care sheet and
this old brain can’t figure out the strange 2 layer boot.

It isn't as pliable as some older boots but it will 'give' some - it almost 'snaps' into place. The inner section of the underneath, needs to conform with the base and may take a little 'persuasion, ever so gently, to achieve this. Once it sits in place for a while, it should fit better.
