Had to add one of these. I assume the 760GLE and similar box type Volvos sold in the U.S? They had sort of a strange cult following over here. Because of their safety emphasis, in the 80s Volvo drivers were notorious for having an excessive belief in the cars safety features meaning they believed they did not have to care too much about anyone else on the road. Bit of fun in many ways. It was the passengers job to be on the lookout and very keenly announce "Volvo alert" for the driver if one was spotted close by. At one stage we could even buy "Volvo Aware Driver" bumper stickers!
Good quality kit, recommended for someone wanting something a little different.
Great build! Love the Volvo; the kit depicts it perfectly!
Excellent build Geoff. I have a few box type Volvos in my collection.
No bumper stickers here in Canada but a similar reputation. BMWs have it today. Very nice model, Geoff.
thanks Tony, Bob, David. Reminder of a bit of a fun time for me.
