Thanks to a tip from @chris, I was able to get a basic 'glass' piece for the silver Bugatti Type 59, which I purchased sans windscreen:
My partner looked askance when I pulled out the kitchen shears and went at a piece of plastic destined for the recycler, but Chris's suggestion was perfect. I still have to trim the top, and this was just the first fitting to make certain it would slide in okay, once finished. Thanks again, CM, it was the perfect solution.

Fantastic! Anything can be re-purposed. I've posted thousands of project/tutorial pics that PROVE "garbage" can be useful! Your new windscreen looks perfect, and WHO will ever know? 😉 😉 😉
