Summer nights are the time for drive-in movies .....  or at least they used to be in long-ago America. On the outdoor screen "Forbidden Planet" is playing. Hmm, I don't see anyone in the vehicles.....perhaps they lost something in the back seat or they are getting something to eat ......

This is an old special FX photo from some time ago using a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria and a 1948 Ford pickup truck. Both are 1/43 scale diecast replicas from Yat Ming.

Spectacular photo Mike!!

Our town still has a drive-in movie theater. Another town, Madisonville, 20 miles southwest of here has one too. They also have a A&W drive-in!

Great shot of a great movie Mike. Maybe the creature scared everyone and they ducked down in the seats,

Late to the party here, but as a big fan of Forbidden Planet I thought I would post a photo of the Marquee of Walter Pidgeon week going on in what used to be my study.

Robbie the Robot, star of later sci-fi movies/TV, makes a memorable appearance in "Forbidden Planet, too, so he is among the stars in this movie. Smile

I'm really not much of a SCI-FI fan, but even I appreciated this movie and have my "cheapy"  but fully functional Robbie always near (excuse the dust  🙄)

@chris COOL! There was even an appearance of Robbie in an episode of Columbo!

...yes, well aware of this. Robbie AND his car also appeared in episodes of the Twilight Zone.  😎 😎 😎

...and, as you know, Robbie's creator also went on to fashion the robot featured in Lost in Space.  😎 😎 😎
