Here are a couple of images in my Dad's files taken at the Chicago auto show at the International Amphitheater in about 1950. Studebaker was a client of my Dad's and my Grandfather was an Assistant Chief Engineer at Diamond-T trucks which probably explains why my father had these photographs.
Diamond-T was headquartered here in Chicago and Studebaker was located in South Bend, Indiana ...... not too far away.
Fantastic old photos. Ahhh, the good times!
fabulous pics, really capture the era, thanks Mike
These show pictures are a real treat Mike.
I always enjoy your vintage pics of auto shows Mike....thank you!
You are all welcome ! For a variety of reasons, I wish I could travel back in time. In the meantime, replica scale automobiles and trucks and old photographs will stand in nicely.
IMO, Studebaker commercial trucks were handsome rigs. I love that last pic... you can see the "tire dressing" wasn't quite completely applied to that RF wheel. I would love to have a 1/18 scale replica of that truck!
