About this time of year, many hardware and home improvement stores will offer wooden "birdhouses" of a rather indeterminate scale which one would put up in the back yard to help Mr. and Mrs. Bird with a pre-made "house" which can be used for their further construction of a house/nest for the new upcoming family.
Such items can also be used as the basis for diorama backgrounds for diecast car images, both for photographs and for real-time model automobile display. Here are some images using these items.

@grockwood Wow, I thought I was the ONLY ONE buying Christmas ornament figures, year ago, because they were in perfect 1/18 scale.ย I immediately noticed your James Deanย figure. ๐ ๐ ๐ย
Now of course, there's a seemingly infinite number of 1/18 figures for all occasions & time periods.ย 25-30 years ago, you had to get them where you found them.ย ย ๐ย
The James Dean figure and the Maryline Monroe figure were from the same company.ย ย They also had Elvis in his Army uniform.ย
OK now theres something to look out for. Thanks for the tip and pics.
Elvis in his Army uniform.ย
Yes, I have him too.ย Despite repeatedly showing, more-or-less, the same 1/18 figures (at least on these forums ) I must have 150-200...most of which were "cheap"ย bargains picked up as novelties, ornaments, etc...
