what a superb model! Arrived today after a dreadfully slow ship from U.S ebay. Bought it from our D4C member Rich Faber. Rich models are always exactly as described, if he says MIB, they're MIB! As is this Corvette. Rich was a great help dealing with ebay to ensure it got here. Thanks again Rich Kirbycars-Diecast-Model-Cars

We cant really have enough Corvettes in our collections can we? The silver body color, white coves and red interior are a perfect match.

I totally agree about the color combo, alway’s been one of my favorites!

Have it, love it. Only color combo I like as well is my last-existing color sample prototype in Crown Sapphire.

thanks Charles, sorry I'm getting away from the Corvette theme a bit, heres a couple of my 1/24 wall display cases that may interest you:

This is a predominately 1930s upmarket/luxury car collection. Many would be familiar to you, the others would probably be my bit builds. Still at least wanting a replacement Duesenberg $20000, and a new 1929 FM silver and black Rolls. My Automodellos and D4C club issues are in the own acrylic cases.

And this is a brass era and 1920s display case. I have at least one color of all FMs models, the 1907 green Silver Ghost is in its own case, too tall for this one. A lot of the others are my kit builds. Two of the black 20s Model T trucks are one offs where Mat my young skilled modeler friend made individual timber trays for them.

@geoff-jowett  Thanks for sharing these images. They are fascinating and I must study them as I have lots of questions - but immediately, no time!  I shall come back to you, if you don't mind.

Coming back to your super 1/43 cabinet displays I would be very happy for some clarrifications if you have time.  I shall go left to right rather than by subject!

First Cabinet: what is the white model row 1: Auburn / Dusenberg ? And below that, tan / cream Horch, is this EMC - and to its left, grey convertible, could you tell us what this is?
row 5 first model and row 6 first model - row 9 third model all look very interesting.

Second Cabinet: You have so many cars here that I would love to know about. I have a particular problem getting 1/43 scale U.S. Vetran models - brass era, such as classic Duryea and the like. Some of these have a U.S. feel and I would be grateful if you could share some details.
Row 1 models two and three.  Row 2 models two and three. Row 3 models two, (Chalmers ?)  three and four. Row 4 third model. Row 5 third model. Row 6 first model. Row 9 fourth model.

I am sure this must be an imposition - but that’s what you get from having such fabulous displays! Perhaps there’s oportunity for a whole new post?

thanks Charles really appreciate your input, however all cars in both cases are 1/24. I bought my first diecast, the FM 1/24 Mercedes in 1987 then progressively added more in that scale over the years. As we had a steady supply of quality 1/24 I mostly stuck with that scale, only adding the odd 1/43, until FM and DM closed down. I started adding more 1/43s then I discovered 1/24,1/25 kit building after a 60 year hiatus and the Hachette et al 1/24 range so my 1/24 collecting has continued. I have about 70 1/43s scattered around the house in their own cases, as in the top photo and then the following multiple displays. Difficult to individually identify the large group in the timber framed showcase from the pic, but much easier in person.

I'd still like to go through the 2 1/24 cases in case you my still be interested even though 1/24? I'll do that now in a separate post in the models and handicrafts forum.

thanks again Charles for your interest and comments on my collection

@geoff-jowett My apologies Geoff. I was of course aware that the first models were 1/24 and that the thread is 1/24, but I think I bacame so carried away with these spectacular models - and the sheer emotions of want (!) - that the brain and logic were over-ruled

Exhausted

@geoff-jowett Geoff , that is a spectacular collection both in depth and quality. Your builds certainly enhance the areas that were not covered by FM and DM. Thanks for sharing.

I have this one as well and love it.  The silver/white exterior with red interior is a knockout IMHO.
