♫ don't you're gonna shut'em down.♫

That old song by the Ripcords suddenly popped into my head while gathering the pics of this Exoto early Cobra 260. It's amazing to me all the junk from 60 years ago are still in my brain which is probably why I can't remember where I put my car keys. There's no room left anymore for new data. Anyway, here's an early (1962-1963) AC Cobra here finished in Standox Daytona Paradise Chromillusion. I remember going with my buddies to the New York Auto Show at the old Lincoln Center (well, it was new then) where Shelby's creation was one display. I still have the promotional booklet they were giving out. I love the "AC" embossed gas pedals and the "A.C. Cars Ltd" chassis plate

Oh yeah, an excellent model for sure (GREAT PICS TOO! )... just don't measure that spare. Exoto's spare wheel is smaller than the other four. 🙄 🙄 😔 😔

Lol...whereas Chris has a 'passion' concerning wheels, tires and wether they're too far out in the wheelwells, mine is always about wether or not the model has valve stems in its wheels. 😂😂😂😂

Two quick things:

1) I've always said, "Wheels can make or break any car (models & 1:1),"  Period-correct whitewalls, wheels tracks, etc., are a must.

2) To the amazement of adults, as a kid, I would point out from a distance those cars, especially 1957 Chevys, that had disc brake conversions....because it was oh-so-obvious to me that the front wheel tracks were NOW wider, and it looked "not right!"

For instance, can you distinguish the two Chevys that have front wheel disc brakes from the two that don't?  Things like this, turn me into a maniac!   😡 🤬 😡

I'd say the 2 in your middle pics have the discs.

The Chevys circled have the discs. It's a subtle difference, I know, but the front wheel tracks are wider and look "funny!"  Those front wheels should be "tucked in!"

Correct sized spare or not, I love this car, both model and full size. Great photos and a very readable post. Thanks once again, Rich.

I’m now checking all my models for valve stems.
