3-23-UPDATE:

Well it took YEARS, but finally I'm starting to permanently load all four 1958 Fords.   After drilling about 56 small holes, I'm now attaching each car with a combination of hidden wires, tie-downs and/or screws.  The scale chains are for looks only.  I'm still not certain how I'll attach the chains to the ratchets so that they look "taunt."   Any "sagging chains"  won't be convincing.   

To do each car properly, I found in necessary to morph into a contortionist, securing that, twisting this, lining up wires, etc....  AUHG!  😮 🙄 😯 

@chris You go Chris!  I just love this car carrier and era of Fords.

3-24 -UPDATE:

Yes, I'm getting just as tired of seeing this project "everyday"  as you are. 🙄 😯  HOPEFULLY there will be only ONE MORE installment/update after this, but I do not know when that will be. 🙄  

All four 1958 Fords are now securely anchored down. I had to quickly devise a spring-loaded device to drawn tension on the chains I couldn't reach.  It worked and with tape I could "hide it"  all away.

I still need to find a good & "scale way"  to attach all the ratchet chains, then I'll add some weathering to the entire truck. Lastly, I'll work out a few detail/bugs here & there.... and then I'll be done.  So, as always, stay tuned...

@marty-johnson Funny!   I wish I could go back to high school "machine shop"  class for just a few hours.  I'd split that trailer into two halves and "sand cast"  about 20 copies.    🤔 🙄 🤨

Ahhh!  I wish I had taken high school machine shop, but it was never offered. It might have helped with the diecast modifications.  LOL!  🤣 😀 😆

Thanks, but "fabricating & enhancing"  is "fabricating & enhancing,"  I'm just doing more of it.  I love all the LITTLE EXTRAS you incorporate; basically, I'm doing exactly the same thing.

@chris  I'm going to employ a question from 'The Big Bang,' wherein the character Sheldon is frequently asked "Did your mother ever have you tested?"

The only word in the English language suitable to convey my reaction by the time I reached page 11 is 'gobsmacked.'  You are a very talented man, though I sense you don't need any affirmation from me to confirm this.  Very well done.

@gdh Geez, thanks!    Should I ever need a PR man or Agent - YOU have the job!      I appreciate your kind words, honestly, I do but as many here (who "cut & chop" ) will tell you, we'd prefer to NOT do any of this type of work, ever!

However, it's sometimes the ONLY way to acquire replicas we desire.   Trust me, I'd rather write a check!     🙄 🙄 🙄     But again, thank you kind sir!  😀
