I hope for your sake that you never have to move.......

Honestly, in 2016 we came about as close as you can get, but it didn't happen.  I was scared then. I'm petrified today! 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬

I began scouting the big box stores and saw the wide range of WWll armor, soft skin and aircraft as well as all the accessories available.

HA! FOOLISHLY I used to laugh at ALL this 1/18 WW II stuff  when it was available for just pennies on the dollar.  😔 😔 😔   Years later, I learned to appreciate ALL the detail & accuracy AND I realized that many of the tanks are actually diecast or have some diecast pieces.

How large is that room or rooms, where you keep all your models and dioramas?

About 16 X 18, give or take. 30 X 45 would be better though. 😏 😉 😏  My music room is next to it. After nearly 18 years of playing in a band we really don't jam much anymore...so who knows? Perhaps an expansion is in my future. I wish I wasn't so lazy! 🙄 🙄

we`re seeing potential for a 4 season streaming presentation

Well, thanks. I'm not certain I'd like to be a guest, but I'd really like to do the interviewing. There are thousands of collectors/collections far more interesting than mine. 20 minutes on YouTube  can confirm that. 😏

@chris

That is a nice size room for all the models. I assume there is enough room for all the boxes for the models. If you do convert your music room to model displays, will you be able to sell the drums? I have no idea about the market for used music equipment.

Nope! 97% of all my factory boxes (1/160 - 1/6) are NOT in that room. I store those separately.  I'm a singer by trade but even if I never play the drums again, I'd have to have one set.  Since May, I've been "pianoless,"  however.  Not sure how long that will last.... 🙄 🙄

@chris

Wow! A professional singer who collects model cars, military vehicles, and planes. This is first time I have heard of that combination. I keep getting more impressed with your talents.

Well, I'm no Joe Kelly Jr., a.k.a J.D. Kelly.  He remains, at least in my book, one of the BEST "singing collectors"  ever!

Remember his The Car Room  show?   Many of use watched it diligently every Saturday night.  Joe is one awesome dude!

The German Tiger was far superior in firepower than the US Sherman..............and still......the Sherman had its advantages....

@joop Yes, very true.  The real key to the Sherman's success, of course, was that they simply outnumbered the smaller but far superior German forces. And thank God for that!

@chris Yes, the Sherman was a much simpler (easier to build in mass numbers, maintain and repair). Many of the Panzers were over-designed and overly complicated. The Shermans that were diesel powered were also less likely to go up in flames as long as the magazine was unscathed.

@chris Kelly was a valuable source of info in the day. Some of my rarest models were snagged from his heads up.

@chris Don't you wish you could have Ringo Starr's energy at 83?

BTW: The Sherman lived on for many decades up-gunned and improved; most notably by the Israeli Defence Force as the M51 "Super Sherman".
