K&K ScaleΒ has released sealed DIECAST 1/18 1961 Cadillac Coupe de Villes is various, period-correct, colors. There are a few missesΒ such as the "rounded"Β lower fins and misplaced fender-top marker lights, but otherwise these Coupes look good.
Of course, most will scream about the absence of whitewalls. Despite being optional in 1961, the number of new '61 Cadillacs sold without whitewalls would probably be close to zero, but blackwalls are not wrong (it was possible! ) therefore, some might appreciate this look. π π€Β
These retail for about $125.00 and when compared to other 1959 -1962 RESIN 1/18 Cadillacs, that's a bargain price and these are metal. π πΒ
They look good and make for a great 1/18 replica ! The colors are really nice, too.
@bob-jackman No Bob, these are sealed diecast models. π£ π« π£
They sure look good Chris how many are in your collection already ?
@100ford2003 That's easy....Β "Zero!"Β Β
I just can't bring myself to spend ANY money for sealedΒ models, regardless the material (diecast or resin ).Β Naturally, I have some 1/18s with only opening doors and/or a hood.... but only a few.
Granted, I am missing out on SEVERAL CHOICE 1/18 Cadillacs from 1954-1984.... but "sealed"Β 1/18 models would have to sell for $10 for me to jump in.Β For me, ALL the fun in 1/18 is that I CAN open doors, hoods & trunks...pose the wheels, open a glove box, fold down a visor... you know, "finger fun!"
Of course, I may EAT MY WORDS one day.... but for now, that's how I feel.
(...sorry for the l o n g - w i n d e d - a n s w e rΒ π π π―)Β
I feel the same. I don't want what is basically a 'promo' model. I had enough of those when I was a kid. SteveΒ
