@100ford2003 They added those different colors on cars back then to tell them apart for the crews, scorers and officials, some teams used hash marks on the front fenders, others used a short strip on the nose of the car, all of that is gone today because of electronic scoring, but those added colors did serve a purpose back then.

Thanks John for the info. Makes sense as they weren't exactly 'racing'  very slowly... I still say they picked an interesting color combo of black 'n pink !
