1977 Porsche 936 Le Mans #3 J. Ickx/H. Pescarolo by True Scale Miniatures. Not a bad diecast but the body panels are not the best fit. They could have done a better job.

I have this one as well, though the #3 car (the Le Mans winner).  Very nicely detailed model, but agree with you on the panel fitment.  Great looking model, though.  By the way, its True Scale Miniatures, not True Seal.

with Solido's 1981 936 (also a Le Mans winner)

I know it was scale, I can't stand iMac key boards, they have no tactical feel to them so it does not always register the keys and spell check will change the word. I spend more time going back trying to catch spelling. Sometimes I catch it sometimes I don't.

I think you mean the #4 car, The Ickx/Pescarolo #3 car failed to finish, J. Ickx was moved over to the #4 car and was told to drive as hard as he could because the car was many laps down, Ickx spent 11 hours in the car. The #4 car took the lead as others fell out of the race but with about an hour to go in the race the engine lost a cylinder so the team kept the car in the pits due to the huge lead they had and did not release the car until there was just 10 minutes left in the race, there lead was so big they still won by many laps. Staying in the pits allowed them to run the final 10 minutes easy so the engine would make it to the checker flag.

Yes, sorry.  Was looking at your pics & got #3 in my head.

Great information on the Le Mans race John. Gavin and you have nice Porches here and they are very well detailed despite problems with fit, and somewhat thick body panels. While I have all shown here in 1/43 scale, I would Love to add these larger versions.
