"But a smaller width of GL's can only mean a too narrow body - and this is unfortunately cannot be fixed."
- Yes, I noticed MCG's extra-thick bumper fillers right away, but as you noted.... it's an EZ-peazy fix. 😏
- Your own measurements confirm that MCG is a hair too wide, while "our measurements" confirm that the GL is "two hairs" too narrow. Again, neither is correct.
- When compared to my other LAPD Police cars - including those from Precision 100, HW61, UT, GL, Autoart, Motormax, Ertl, etc. - the GL appears in scale. That is, it fits right in, appearing no larger or smaller than any other.
- Among that same collection, your MCG would stand out for being slightly wider; but I will swap you headlights! 😀 😎 😀
- You may notice that my GL LAPD '77 Dodge Monaco has working steering. That's something I just had to fabricate.... fixed front wheels make a madman out of me. 😬 😬
- Have you, just for the hell of it, "scaled out" your BOS 1985 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser?
@chris Wow, that's an impressive LAPD fleet!
I wasn't aware of Ertl 1974 Dodge Monaco in LAPD livery, thought I had them all.
Also, HW61 1957 Bel Air black and white was just some police chief, not LAPD?
I have four of LAPD police cruisers, somehow it is not very common, I have more of NYPD or CHP or even Chicago police vehicles.
1/18 1950 Ford Custom 4 door Sedan police, LAPD, Precision Miniatures, partnumber PMUS3PC, year of issue - 2006.
1/18 1977 Dodge Monaco LAPD, GreenLight Colelctibles, Artisan series, partnumber 19042, year of issue - 2018.
1/18 1996 Chevrolet Caprice Los Angeles LAPD Police Car, UT Models, partnumber 21027, year of issue - 1998.
1/18 2001 Ford Crown Victoria Police car LAPD, AUTOart, partnumber 72701, year of issue - 2000 .
@carcass1996 NICE! 😎 😎 😎 Here's all of mine.... I only collect LAPD (and/or "black & whites" ) Police cars. I've yet to buy Sunstar's 1952 Nash only because I know I'll have to remove the skirts & swap out those wire wheels. 😫
"....there's more just black-and-whites, mostly CHP and SFPD."
...right. I passed on that '56 Merc. only because it's a hardtop and not a 2-dr sedan - like it should be. Mustang Police cars are cool, but... I thought about that CHiPs Caprice, but I already have the LAPD version. That Nash, well.... sooner or later I'll probably buy one AND tackle yet, another project. 😫 😫
- You have a great collection of "black & whites" Viacheslav! 😎 😎
Whaaat Chris.....no 1-Adam-12 Matador?
Oh, don't go there Jack! Want the nickel story?
- First off.... Why isn't there - or haven't been - ANY 1/18 Adam-12 LAPD cars? Perhaps Rich or Tony know; I can ONLY speculate that licensing fees are outrageous.
- I'm a huge Dragnet / Adam-12 fan and would really like a 1/18 of Gannon & Friday's Ford Fairlane but would especially LOVE a 1/18 of Reed & Malloy's 1968 Plymouth (I'd take that AMC too, but REALLY want the Plymouth ).
- Many years ago, I scooped up a few 1/18 Ertl '68 Ply. Road Runners, hoping to convert one into an Adam-12 4-door replica.
- But the model is such a POS, I halted all work hoping to one day pick up a few "junker" 1970 GMP Road Runners to use instead as the "platform."
- Although I have a GMP RR, it's not a "junker" AND I've yet to find any AND they've since become quite valuable.
- So.... no one's producing ANY 1/18 Adam-12 LAPD units and my project has stalled! 😫 😫 😫
- You can NOW see Jack that YOU'VE opened a can of worms! 😬 🤪 😲 😵 😡
- Chris out - KMA367 😔 😔 😔
