1999 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Sportside Box Pickups

A number of years ago I added a new 1:18 scale Welly 1999 Chevrolet Silverado Extended Cab Sportside Box Pickup Truck to my collection. Not too long after that, another collector sold me a few loose models and included a black Silverado for free. It was missing its passenger-side interior door panel. Ironically, last month I came across another black Silverado and it, too, was missing the same interior door panel, along with a couple of wheels. This one set me back a whole dollar! Using the boxed Silverado's door panel for a mold, two panels were cast in water putty, painted and glued to the two doors. Both trucks also received an exhaust extension made from aluminum tubing. One truck got four new wheels and tires from the parts bin.

Thanks for looking...

Well done, Bob. Those trucks look like 1:1 in your pics.

Thanks, Andy. These two by Welly are decently detailed enough, but for whatever reason Welly seemed to make them a bit under-scaled. Perhaps because if they were truly 1:18s, they would have had to be packaged in a box too big for 'proper marketing'. I had one truck parked next to an Ertl Pontiac Firebird and they are both about the same length! Wonder if the Firebird is over-scaled. LOL
