Here's a race ready 1978 Porsche 911 Turbo RSR. One of 31 built from the stock 911 Turbo Carrera to meet FIA Group 4 requirements. One of the last Porsche racers to look like the stock version save for the wheel arch extensions, special hood, engine cover and special glass reinforced plastic glazing. It had to have what was called 'racing trim' (of 'Group 4 trim') which only had to weigh 66 lbs for Group 4 requirements. It had wins in three continents: The European GT Championship, US TransAM and the Australian Sports Car Championship.
Model by Exoto in unliveried Standox "Laguna Seca Sky" Chromillusion finish.
Had it and sold it. Someone should have smacked the crap outta me!!
@bob-jackman I'm here to serve.
@perrone1 What's amazing is this 934 as well as the 935 (tomorrow's post) are almost a quarter century old. How ahead of its time Exoto was.
Someone should have smacked the crap outta me!!
I hate waiting in lines...but I'll do it. 😏 😏
Terrific looking model, but with all that "beef," that lowly little tailpipe seems a bit odd. 🙄
@chris The "basket of snakes" all culminate to that single pipe. It may be that a certain amount of back pressure was necessary in tuning.
I love the 934, but I always thought the stuff hanging out the back was strange. Interesting to see its accurate to the real car. I bought the sealed Minichamps version a few years back. I like how the flares are a different color from the rest of the model...makes them stick out visually even more.
with Norev's 935.
I'm always a sucker for Martini & Rossi livery.
Had it and sold it. Someone should have smacked the crap outta me!!
Don't be so hard on yourself. I think some of us might have made ' mistakes' like this.
I know that I have.
