The 1938 Bentley "Embiricos" was to be a prototype that was commissioned from coachbuilder Marcel Pourtout for Greek sportsman Andre Embiricos. it was designed by Georges Paulin usinf current aerodynamic principles on the Bentley 4.5 liter chassis. Finished in 1939, the plans to show and race this car were stymied by the advent of WWll so it survived the war as a daily driver and plans to market this design were forgotten. The car finally made its racing debut at Le Mans in 1949 and finished in three of these events until 1952. Many of its design elements were incorporated into the 1952 Bentley Continental so it wasn't a total loss.

Another great Bentley. I have this one in 1/43 with nowhere near this detail. Thanks Rich.
