One of 26 built from 1955 to 1959 in three different versions over those years , this 1956 Maserati 300S, numbered 3058 (production started with #3056) looks nothing like the 1:1, body-wise. It's been impossible to find the actual car this CMC model replicates. First, no two cars were exactly alike. Second, many or most were rebodied over the years. Third, the chassis were renumbered for whatever reasons. The chassis and drivetrain is accurate for an early production car... superbly accurate, I might add. The body may be a composite of early production cars as they exist in museums or collection. It has the proper front clip for an early '55-'56 300S. The fender vents could have been open, had gill slits or in this case, a metal framed, slatted opening. It's a beautiful rendition, at any rate, finished in the proper Italian race "Rossa Corsa" sans livery qualifying it for the exclusive "Bob Jackman Collection". The model has 1838 mixed media parts.
