This 2003 Honda NSX JGTC was Honda's Autobacs race team entry into the "All Japanese Grand Touring Car". This circuit allowed Japanese automakers to take their sports car models to another level of all the speed and performance they could muster with virtually no limits. Cars like the NSX and Nissan's Skyline GTR (I'll show that one tomorrow) would show up with frames, suspensions, bodies, wings and canards that would make them unrecognizable save for the badging and a few styling cues. The longitudinally aligned 290 HP 3.2 liter DOHC VTEC V6 was actually reverse installed with the 6 speed transmission mounted in front!. This car ran in the GT500 class. There was also a GT300 class for cars like the Nissan Fairlady. AUTOart made a few of these JGTC cars in curbside in rather limited numbers presumably because these cars were only run in country. They must have been a helluva lot of fun for all involved in the design, build and driving.
Fun and scary! It sure doesn't look like a 22 year old car. 😲
An amazingly cool model with a whole bunch of items to see ! This one would be a real knockout to have on display in a collection.
@chris The roof mounted air box is the giveaway.
So wait.... Those pics are of a model ??
Those pics are of a model ??
...no, no that's Rich's personal race car that he tours & drives on weekends - like Paul Newman. 😎
Well, I guess it HAD to be a model as I don't see any "you know what I'm talkin bout" unless this NSX has them mounted inside the rims...🤣
Steve
Great looking model. I never bought either this test car or the liveried version, but always liked the 1st gen NSX a lot.
