bare metal ultra bright chrome

@perrone1   Well, when you mention a 'steady hand' that pretty much leaves me out in the dust.  Is this product actually a foil, almost like silver leaf, or gold leaf?

I found this on ebay, just now.  It is self-adhering so it may be less of a problem for unsteady hands.

That's exactly right, it IS a foil. And it IS self adhering, like gold leaf. At my age, I'd attempt to put it on window frames and have it all over the door and trunk! Do some test on a derelict model and get the hang of it before going to the Jag.

@perrone1  My first use of this would be for the 1/24 Bugatti Mascot and when I get to the Jag I think I would use the foil before I attach the window frame.  We shall see.  Boy, these projects just keep multiplying.

Just don’t set them aside to do later when you get the nerve. That way, you get a drawers full.

I love green cars too. A versatile color for a variety of different cars.

@david-green   No worries there.  Lack of space requires focus and extreme organization.

@bob-jackman

I love the green color on the Bertone(?) Carabo concept ca. 71-72 or so. I also liked Verdoro Green on ’69 Grand Prix’s. Lincoln had some nice greens on their Marks.

Good question. GDH mentioned:

 " I must confess I've never heard of it.  I did find Chris's suggested PS-41 but it only comes in a spray can and I only need a tiny amount for a 1/24 Bugatti mascot."

You're right though; just like the LECC 40 Packard Darren, the Esders mascot is silver.

@perrone1 ...and the answer is the FM Esders, which has a replacement mascot, cast in black resin.  It was on the car when I bought it and I want to bring it up to snuff.

However, I am also 'stealing' the mascot from the Italeri '31 Bugatti Victoria Cabriolet for the FM '30 Bugatti Coupé Napoleon, which came without.  That one is already 'chromed.'

I always loved the Bugatti "Dancing Elephant". I shot this one on the Coupé Napoléon, the 1927 Bugatti Type 41 Royale at the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance 50th Anniversary:

@perrone1   It is very stylish and I just noticed my 1/16 Bugatti has a black replacement mascot, as well, so there is another one for the foil treatment.

Even the seaguls cat-whistled when that bad boy rolled it. I remarked, excitedly too loud, "Oh my God, here comes a football field." Half the crowd broke up laughing.
