As I ponder ideas in my never-ending quest for more & more display space, I sometimes forget that I have a few dozen 1/18 models I've never opened - never even touched. Like me, I suspect many of you have other scale models that are "MIB," but how many of you have MIB 1/18's? 🙄 🙄 🙄 Here's just a few mixed in with other models...
The vast majority of mine are displayed. I'd guesstimate about 5 1/18th models in their boxes. Two or three of them are Exoto's.
Not me, both of my 1/18 scale model cars are on display.

Each of my diecast cars has excitedly been taken out of it's box, although especially now since a recent several-block move, I can only exhibit a very small fraction of all my models.
When I win the Lottery, I will have plenty of space to show ALL my replicas, especially so in my various mansions around the country.
I have 254 1/18 scale Diecast all on display, I want to enjoy them and keeping them in a box in a closet does not work for me. I have one more 1/18 scale Diecast on the way when it is released for a total of 255 all of them displayed.
I only have a dozen 1/18 on display, the rest stored. I literally have hundreds of both 1/43 and approx. 1/64 models displayed, however. I have been at ‘critical mass’ for several years and my storage gets larger and larger. My daughter says,” When are you going to get rid of all this.” I say, “That is not my problem.”
I say, “That is not my problem.”
HA!
Basically, there's two schools of thought for collectors:
1) I'll do what I can to liquidate prior to my death, and/or provide detailed instructions, accounts & spreadsheets to aid in the disbursement after I'm gone.
2) "It's not my problem."
I'm embarrassed to say this, but at least half of my collection is not only still in the boxes, but I don't even know where they are. I have photographed virtually everything, so, if I want to see a model, I look at the pictures of it. Pathetic, no?
@chris Every expert I've asked about my various collections, they all ask where do I keep them and the answer is always the same... "Let your kids deal with them". My youngest daughter said she'll deal with them, but she has no idea what lies ahead for her. LOL
I really wish our auction would get fixed. I'd love to share my stuff with you guys.

Right, right... I get it. There's pros & cons associated with both schools of thought.
@david-green Good for you, my friend! We don't need the aggravation in our old age.
