Due to a lack of display space, I have a few models stored away never to be seen. Almost all of them are large-scale, 1:8, 1:12, and 1:16. I think I have a handful of 1:18 scale models that I put away because they were replaced with better and updated models. I know I have one C1 Corvette (1953?) that was so poorly done I refused to display it.
As I age, my wife has asked me to start liquidating my collection. When I punch out of here, she doesn't want to be faced with the task. She reasons I have the ability to get maximum value from the collection. She's probably right, too.
I've considered selling off the least valuable in my collection (Maistos, Buragos, Road Tough), but frankly, they're virtually worthless, so that doesn't do much for generating cash. If anything, all selling them would do is free up display space for models I still want. LOL!
Occasionally thinking about your issue, yes....
A friend of mine told me they have served their purpose, when you have done your last breath.
My son and daughter haven’t approached me on that subject yet; they want me to see 100 years at least.
My daughter does want that 1979 Corvette; both were born in 1979.
