....you three seem to always know "back-stories" and/or are "connected" more than most.
This NEW DD Models 1/18 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer looks suspiciously identical (with a few minor differences ) to my Autoart 1/18 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
Q: Did Autoart sell off some tooling? or is DD Models leasing tooling? Or......?? Thanks in advance!

Man, is that HANDSOME! Blue and Maroon! I have no idea about the tie-in, if any between AutoArt and DD Models but did read an interesting tidbit. It said that the model has actual wood veneer while the real car had vinyl. Hmmm, really?

You know (I never realized that ).... you're 100% correct! 😲 1:1 Grand Wagoneers used "wood decals," but AA made no attempt to reproduce a vinyl application; it's "wood."

I don't know if they are affiliated. But I have heard rumors that DD's 1/64 offerings are redos of models made by someone else in another scale.

It is a great-looking 1/18 Jeep Grand Wagoneer ! Each one is certainly well done and whether this one is exclusive/new tooling or using AutoArt's molds, it definitely is exceptionally nice.

Nowadays, it's probable scan, print and there's you positive for making the molds.

Well, that's something (thanks ).. .. I see they do a few European funky looking car haulers.

@rich-sufficool I don't doubt that..... but surely AA sold something to DD, or DD is part of AA.... or ???

Yeah right ..... until tomorrow, when you'll be on the phone with each of the VPs (AA & DD ) in charge of marketing & finance. 😏 😏 😏
