Did all those manufacturers that produced the DB5 actually make their own body mould or did any of them share with each other ?
Chris,
In that last picture of the Auto Art updated model it appears that the door gap at the rear quarter panel is wider than the door gap between the front fender and the door panel. Is that just an illusion from the way you took the picture ?

- To my knowledge, each one of those 1/18 "rejects" utilized their own molds. No company shared or sold tooling with another.
- Yes, there are slight door gap differences between the front & rear. It's a bit surprising because this a composite body; all panel seems should be uniformly tight!
Good spotting there - Eagle eye!

I always liked the movie and have seen it multiple times. It is my favorite Bond movie, and has one of my favorite movie theme songs.

Thank you Charles!
I can easily see how Baker could be a Bond candidate. I can't believe I've never heard of him. From his interviews, he certainly seems like he was a stand-up guy and obviously quite successful in his own right. It's a shame he died before he could Knighted by the Queen. Thanks for all this information & links; Checkpoint appears to have a Bond-like air about it. I'll watch it, in full, as time permits.
Thanks again, fascinating info I never knew about!
@ed-davis I agree completely! Goldfinger still holds up today - 60 years later! Practically every aspect of that film became widely successful far beyond expectations; it morphed into world-wide phenomenon in 1964 and catapulted everyone AND everything associated with the film into super stardom. Dame Shirely Bassey's rendition of the theme song is next-level great! 😎 😎

The Chrono, SunStar & possibly that U-Turn (which I've never heard of...but based on that pic & the box/mounting) are all the same model with minor differences.

I stand corrected, after reviewing a few detailed pics of the Chrono & Sunstar DB5s, I'd have to agree with you - they are the same. Thanks for the heads up Gavin!

Charles, I have now seen it and liked it. Oh, sure there's a few timing improbabilities among the characters near the end, but the acting & directing were first rate and those vintage race scenes through Italy - in color - were great! You're right, Stanley Baker was a solid actor and probably would've done just fine as 007. But of course, Sean Connery WAS Bond! 😎 😎
@chris Chris, you seem interested in Connery movies and so I suggest your checking-out a less well known item - perhaps you do know it - Woman of Straw 1964. It lacks the gadgets but there are some nice cars, Sean Connery at his most polished and suave PLUS the stunning Gina Lollobrigida. It's a crime thriller, very well directed, polished and quite startling. Re. Baker, you're right 1956 British movies can be a bit improbable - He's probably best seen in ZULU which he co-produced too.
@charles-rockett Woman of Straw is an excellent thriller, very "Hitchcockesque." But it's easy to understand how it got lost in sauce once Goldfinger premiered just a few months later, despite Gina Lollobrigida being as gorgeous as any Bond girl. 😏
@chris It's not exactly box-office material is it? But for me, it's good to see him play a serious part - not that the Bond parts aren't excellently played.
