Wow, that's a great looking model and excellent packaging ! I have always thought that the SunStar Platinum Series packaging, with the partial foam clamshell, combined with the window box and the flap to cover the clear window, was a wonderful way to both protect and yet be able to show the actual model inside when desired.
Wasn't the Peerless made by another manufacturer in a pinkish / light tan color ?

AutoWorld (Ertl) bought up some tooling from other manufacturers a number of years back, including Anson. Perhaps this was a previous Anson release ? It sure looks great here, in any case !
Thanks Mike. I'm sure that was it. I just couldn't think of Anson at the time. They gave us some top notch models !

They did ! I have their '57 Studebaker Hawk and their 1938 Buick Y-Job is a particularly cool replica, done beautifully by them.
I have the Anson model and it is quite good.
The one thing I appreciate on the Anson model is the unusual use of artillery wheels as opposed to the chrome spoked wheels every other makers 20s-30s models sport.
