BMW evolution [PIC]
The 1958 BMW 507, designed byCount Albrecht Graf von Goertz, was actually aimed at the American market against the T-Bird and the Corvette and also against the M-B 300SL.
In 3 years, however, they only sold 252. The Count's own 507, retored, went to Bonham's with a $2.8 million estimate.
Fast forward to the new millenium and you have the Z8 which seems a high tech homage to the 507. With an M5 drivetrain, it's a beast and although 5700 units were produced worldwide auction prices are around the $200K mark whereas a similar M-B SL600 now goes for $20000 in mint condition.

I'd prefer the 507 if I had a choice to park either in my drive-way.

Both models are very nice. I don't have either, but I'd prefer the modern version in my driveway.

Well, I have both and I give more value to the older one, i.e.507. Because it participated in COTC... So an important BMW

2 of my favorite BMW's...absolutely love the styling on both.
