I received an email from CMC saying they are closing their USA offices and January 31, 2024 will be their last day in operation. They will still have their overseas offices and any pre orders still pending will be transferred to their overseas offices.

I have a Ferrari on pre order that is supposed to be released this month December 2023.

CMC USA Is Closing Its Doors January 2024

Dear Valued Customers,

It is with sad emotions that we write to inform you of a significant decision that has been made regarding the future of Classic Model Cars USA. After careful consideration, we regret to announce that we will be closing our doors for business on 1/31/2024.

This decision has not been made lightly, and we want to express our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support over the years. It has been an incredible journey serving you, our valued customers, and we are truly honored to have had the opportunity to be a part of your lives.

We understand that our success would not have been possible without your loyalty and trust. Your patronage has been instrumental in shaping our company, and we are immensely grateful for the relationships we have built with each and every one of you. Your feedback, encouragement, and shared experiences have been the driving force behind our commitment to producing such eloquent models.

As we embark on this new chapter, we want to assure you that all existing obligations and commitments will be honored until the closure date. Our dedicated customer service team will be available to address any questions or concerns you may have during this transition period. You can reach them at 585-292-7280 or sales@cmcmodelcarsusa.com.

We sadly will not be able to fulfill any pre-orders beyond this date, all new releases will be handled by our friends in the CMC Fellbach office. If you placed a pre-order for any upcoming release, it will be passed along to them where it can be claimed. The Sales Manager, Peter Diller can be reached at diller@cmc-modelcars.de. We will continue to offer all of our in-stock models until 12/15/23.

Though we are closing our doors, we sincerely hope that the positive experiences you've had with CMC USA will stay with you. We encourage you to remain a part of the CMC family through our European partners.

Once again, thank you for being an integral part of our journey. It has been an honor to serve you, and we will cherish the memories created during our time together.

Best regards,

The CMC USA Team

Sounds like they are just cutting cost.

...I agree, sounds like cost cutting. I see no hobby-slow-downs anywhere, really.... therefore, I'm a bit surprised by this apparently, necessary move. At the end of the day, of course, this IS a business and remaining fiscally sound is paramount.

I think that this is just another indication that the demand for what they sell is dwindling in the US as their prime collectors age and newer collectors have less interest in older cars - particularly at their price point. For example, I have ten Ferrari 250 GTO's. I don't need another one at CMC's current price especially considering that I have two of their 250GT SWB models that have the same level of 'under the body shell' as the new cars. It's a shame they weren't building the GTO's instead of the SWB models back in 2005.
