Likening the muscle car era to the reign of the dinosaurs, cars like the Charger R/T and the Super Bee both with ram air 426 Hemis, 1971 would be their apex just before the asteroid strike that caused their mass extinction in the form of government regulations. It would take many decades of evolution for these velociraptors to return.

The Charger R/T Hemi in beautiful B5 Blue and the Super Bee In Hemi Orange:

Those are great pics of this car.   I was a kid when these were new and I hated them - now that I'm "105"  they look pretty good to me.    I offer my pathetic pics  only to show another variation.   I like my brown,  but your blue  looks nice too.   Cool post "T-Rex,"  I mean "T-Rich."    😎 😎

Am I correct that the Grabber hood scoop was vacuum-actuated with an application of full throttle?

From what I've read, it was vacuum actuated and "usually" activated by a switch under the dash. I'm not sure if "usually" means there's another option. If it was like my older 383, the secondaries were mechanically operated by the throttle's last inch of depression ( which I thought was cooler than hell).

@chris That color looks close to the Turbine Bronze of the Turbine Car.

@rich-sufficool Well.... in the same "family hue,"  but the Turbine car was lighter.    Let's review, shall we:

For what it's worth, that's how my B-in-L's works on his '70 RR - that looks like this 1/18 '70 GMP GTX.  😉

GTX 1970 2

I’ll be damned… they even put a lever to recline the seatback on the drivers seat !  This is HWY61, right ?  My phone screen’s too small… are there tire valve stems ?

Thank-you..

😂🙌 I got a free iphone16 and I’m not really liking it. Screen size is smaller than my Motorola.  LOL

I never really warmed up to this era of Charger but to be fair what could better the '68?  We were spoiled by that beauty!
