In the early days of the Martini Racing Team, Martini through DM racing bought this year old Porsche 910 from the factory team and, on a shoe string budget, slapped a somewhat abbreviated Martini livery over a silver body and entered the racing world. Martini sponsorship only cost them 1500 Deutsche Marks. Because of the FIA rulings that year, this little 910 was up against bigger and more powerful 907s and 908s along with a slew of GT40s. It ran in the 1968 1000 km of Nurburgring and hung in there to 15th place. The car still exists today on display more for its beauty than its prowess. Note the fenestrated end caps on the exhausts. Is that to add a bit of back pressure?
Model by Exoto's Motorbox series.
Nice photos of a kinda slow car. 😏
