I have happily had many Maisto 1/18 diecast automobiles over the years and still have most of them. They are low-cost (especially at Sam's Club holiday sales) and nicely done.

This Jaguar is one I got at Sam's Club many years ago, but I had to pare down some of my collection some time back in a move to a different dwelling. Nevertheless, it is a typically well-done 1/18 from Maisto.

Arguably, they remain as the best 1/18 bang for the buck!    😉

Maisto does a good job for their price point, the paint is glossy, they look good, the down side is the rims are not the best on their models, outside of that they are affordable and make a nice display piece. Nice photos.

Thanks ! They do a good job at their price point and we have gotten a number of diecasts we might not have seen, even at a higher purchase cost.

I agree with the above comments. Great bang for the buck.

I had this model as well, though sold it a number of years back.  It was fairly well done for the price.  I like your color a lot better than the luxo-beige I had, @michaeldetorrice.

**edit** pics weren't showing up before.

It is a good-looking diecast and the price was unbeatable. It had a working suspension and it is inevitable that the diecast car one doesn't have anymore is one you still wish you had around ! Unamused

I don't care much for most of the newer Jags. It seems their beautiful sculptural designs gave way to the wind tunnel / CAD programs. Here's an equally boring yet high performance model: the XKR-S.

Jaguar XKR S 002
Jaguar XKR S 035
Jaguar XKR S 003 001
Jaguar XKR S 041
Jaguar XKR S 033 001
Jaguar XKR S 006 001
Jaguar XKR S 016
Jaguar XKR S 017
Jaguar XKR S 013 001
Jaguar XKR S 014 001
Jaguar XKR S 020
Jaguar XKR S 005 001
Jaguar XKR S 043
Jaguar XKR S 024
Jaguar XKR S 011

You've mentioned before that you don't love the styling on this...funny, I love it.  Big fan of the blue, too.  Not a shade you normally see on Jags.

I have the "base" XK Coupe, also by AutoArt.

@gavin It appears to be French Racing Blue which is really an odd choice.

I agree. IMO, that particular shade doesn't work too well, especially when compared to Gavin's Autoart.

In a way the odd colour is symptomatic, along with the marque's departure from its former "beautiful sculptural design". It's as if it isn't important whether it's a Jag', Bugatti or whatever.
