Doug Nash Bronco Buster Funny Car - Part 4

I've attached the separated body panels to stretch out the front fenders. The rise on the hood that meets the cowl has been filed down and a plug for the extended hood has been sized and inserted. I'll have to fashion a hood scoop but they'll come later.

Chris Moroni was right. My original intention was to remove the hood and reinstall to compensate for the upward slope. Chris said it probably wasn't necessary. I'm glad I took his advice and I managed to reshape by filing the hood area to the correct slope with a handfile.

I've sectioned the top and began sizing it to fit. The "C" pillar is the wrong angle so I'll section out a pie shape so that it's more upright and correct to the 1:1. It also needs an extra piece to make it wider but that is an easy peazy task.

The tailgate has a license plate frame molded into the metal. Today, I'm going to begin working on removing it so it has a smooth look across the tailgate. Once the body is pretty much done, I'll begin fabricating the chassis and suspension pieces.

Glad I could help (albeit in a VERY minor way). Good progress. For some reason I thought the body...

...needed to be "narrowed." I guess it remains at "stock" width. Ok cool. Less work! I like the jack stands too...gives everything a nice "scale" look. Keep these pics coming... WE love 'em!

Yep! Looks great, huh? My hope is that my 1:18 version looks as good as this 1:25 scale version.
