Exoto Motorboxes...
How do they stack up to the Exoto Racing Legend series?
Depends.
The early street Corvette's, which were, I think, actually made by Revell are pedestrian but effective. I own three and favor the 1967 in Marina Blue over the orange 'Drag' and the yellow coupe. They also originally sold for something like $49.
That said, those same molds were re-purposed later for racing editions which are decorated accurately enough but are not really enhanced in their bones to be true racing replicas and were priced at $100 or more over the original street version.
That said, the Jaguar XJR9-LM are fantastic models and comparable to same period front line Exoto models. They had a very sharp price when introduced - something less than the Racing Legends series as I recall.
I have three versions (Silk Cut LM Winner, Castrol Daytona Winner and Green Prototype) and can recommend them highly.
I'll back Rusty on this..........
although I have a much lower opinion of the L-88 Corvettes than he does. I had a hell of a time getting them to look even halfway accurate.
The Jags were indeed stellar, so much so that I bought two even though they are outside of the focus my main collection. I also have two of the Porsche 910's which are on par with most of the 'legends'
