To keep Ferrari in the winner's circle, in 1979. Enzo Ferrari needed to upgrade their 312T cars primarily with new aerodynamics. On the track, it wasn't the fastest (Renault Turbo) or the stickiest (Williams FW07), but with its 515hp flat 12, it was a winner starting with its debut in the South African Grand Prix driven by Jody Scheckter.
Say what you want about Tony K (and the fate of Exoto), but in the early 2000s, he was cranking out amazing and ground breaking models that lead the way for CMC to enter the 1/18 market with their own series of what I'd call 'museum pieces'. After all these years, I still love to pull these gems out of their cases an marvel at the detailing. There's so much to see that thank goodness for macro photography I can still enjoy the craftsmanship involved.
awesome looking model. Love the exhaust & intake stacks.
This Exoto Ferrari would look very nice in my display cabinet! Very nice indeed!
Great post! Fantastic Ferrari model with a wonderful history. Thanks Rich once again.
