In my travels today, I drove by a house that had a F1 car in the garage.  I couldn’t believe it was real so I rang the doorbell, introduced myself, and asked if it was real!  It was!

...the last time I did that, I bought the car.   😬

So, auh....    (I dare ask ) is this now in your garage?  😮

There surely must be an interesting back story here, right?   I mean.... this F1 is not street legal, so the owner is either a hard-core fan, or he's storing it, or working on it, or...??  🤔

Looks like the McLaren F1 car of Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri:

It's a real, formerly-raced F1 car.  The homeowner, who I spoke with, owns an auto transportation business.  They transport luxury and exotic cars.  He has a warehouse where he stores cars, but due to limited space, he sometimes has to put the overflow in his garage.  He told me once he had three cars at his home.  Two were in the driveway.  They've won a contract to transport retired F1 cars to various auto events to display.  They just finished doing the Pebble Beach Concours. He told me last week he had Lewis Hamilton's car.  There is no engine in the car.

- Good detective work Tony.

- Thanks for the info, Marty... all that makes perfect sense.  Not buying it for yourself was a pragmatic & wise choice (speaking parenthetically of course ) 😏 😏

I'm surprised to hear that it is race-run. With both drivers' names on it, I thought it might be a presentation car.

And well done to Lando today, dominant performance at Zandvoort.

@paul-rouffa - Yes, I noticed both driver names as well.  It made me wonder why both names are on a formerly raced car.  Perhaps the team added both names later.  I did pour all over the car.  With the exception of the missing engine, all of the intricate racing bits and pieces seem to be there.

Oops!  I screwed up.  I read your comment before I watched the recorded race.  Now, I know the race results.  Doh!

Doh

I'm glad to see Lando Norris won, though.  I believe it's his second career win.

@paul-rouffa - Ha!  No worries!  I watched it anyway.  I definitely wanted to see the rest of the order and how it got there!
