As fantastic as these "museum quality replicas" are, I'm still a bit surprised that CMC didn't go a bit further and tool up a WW II livery. It seems to me that with a few truck-body upgrades, some really nice German war trucks could've been manufactured.

@chris Actually, Mercedes stopped producing that truck in 1936. I'm sure survivors were pressed into service if possible since despite being known for their motorized "Blitzkrieg" tactics, the Germans had to rely way too much on horses for transportation. Daimler-Benz came out with this 12 ton utility truck the following year that was one of Germany's prime movers given the designation Sd.Kfz 8 and was built in multiple configurations as cargo, passenger and armored vehicles. After 1942 most all were half tracks after experiencing Russian winters.
