Ahhhh, the classic Sales 101 tactic of "Sell the sizzle, not the steak" in full display here.  I always loved the color-keyed wheel covers on the '62 Caddy.  Another feature was the rear turn signal/brake lamps.  The lens was clear, but the bulb was colored red.  Very cool!  

BTW, did you note that the Pontiac pulling up next to the... ahem.... brand new 1962 Cadillac was a 1963?  LOL!  And, I suppose it's okay to have a '61 Caddy share the new showroom floor with the new 1962 models, right?  It was a left-over from last year that hasn't sold yet!  LOL!  

C'mon, movie producer!  You should have known anal retentive car freaks would notice that little detail, right?   

 I never took to the body-colored wheel covers, but I know they were popular. Those Mitica models, while static, look spectacular. Does anyone know anything about the company? Are they producing other scales?

@jkuvakas - Yes, John.  Apparently, they're doing other scales as well.  They only have two models in 1:18.

...yes, I too noticed the mistakes (remember I once owned a 1959 CDV), that '63 Pontiac cracked me up but, like the '61 Cadillac, it was at least, in theory, possible to have happened that way. But of course, we know, these were production oversights deemed too negligible to correct.

This dealership scene was simply "too cool"  to pass up...and yes, just imagine YOURSELF picking from 143 options to personalize your authentically-chromed-detailed-polished-by-hand-Taj-Mahal on wheels!  (that's alot of sizzle!)

I did not know about those unique brake lamps. Hmm..... 🤔     It's very possible I've seen that yellow convertible in person. For years it toured the show circuit as a "nut & bolt rotisserie restoration."   Over 25 years ago, I remember telling friends that I had seen the very best 1962 Cadillac convertible probably in existence.
