Emile Darl'mat set up an auto shop in the early 1930s and then became a licensed Panhard and Peugeot dealer. With an eye towards racing at Lemans, he developed a relationship with designer Georges Paulin and coachbuilder Marcel Pourtout. His performance upgraded 302 and later the 402 chassis and powertrain were mated to these streamlined, light weight bodies and both models were raced at Lemans bringing Peugeot back into racing for the first time since the early teens. Overall, only 20 coupes were produced and perhaps 5 survived to date. They sold well back then even with a price tag of $8600.
This Norev model is a 1937 Pourtout Peugeot Darl'mat 302 Coupe sans numbers for all you purists out there. LOL Actually the race prepped 302s had twin carbs.
Another great Frenchman with lots of character. Very nice informative post Rich. Thank you.
