I have been going through old photo files for a while now. Many of them are not suitable to post as I experimented with technique. Some worked out, some didn't. Anyway, as I go through them, I find sets that were just ignored or missed when I took them, filed away for the future, I guess. For this model's photos, that day has arrived, LOL!
I remember buying this model and I remember taking the photos seen here, after that. Not much. This is one of those models that got packed back into its box and is still there. Sad, that is for sure. I am continuing to work toward more display space, but my room is more limited, creativity is in order and a definite thinning out is coming too.
I have two of these models, one in Serge Blue and this one in Canto Cream. Of the two, this one is my favorite. However, there is something to be said for the that dark blue w/red wheels of the other one.

Colorwise, for the '50 Olds Rocket 88, that was the Canto Cream of the Crop! So are the pics!
What great images of this beautiful car and model ! Ertl Authentics really hit a home run with this diecast and I have this one in blue, gray and maroon.
Bob, the colors really go well with this gorgeous Oldsmobile, as does the bright and beautiful yellow one that John has shown here.
I had heard that one of the pioneer rock n' roll "proto" songs from the early-1950's was "Rocket 88" by Ike Turner. In any event, the Oldsmobile (and other) V-8 powered cars initially from the 1950's, really set the pace for automobiles. (no pun intended !)
How sweet it is in Canto Cream. Loving the car, color and pics!
