Maybe only Chris will enjoy this, but it IS a diecast. There were two inter-war aircraft I always loved and wanted to have:
1.) The two seat Curtis Helldiver biplane that made up the squadron that shot down King Kong from the Empire State Building.
2.) the Boeing P26A pursuit plane that was the first all metal, monoplane in the USAAC introduced in 1932. It saw brief combat in the Spanish Civil War as well as the Philippines in 1941. I always liked the look of the Peashooter in its colorful inter-war livery.
This model represents the P26A as it was deployed in the 95th Pursuit Group at March Field, California in 1935. The model is from John Jenkins Designs Inter-war Aviation Collection and comes with a removable pilot "plug" (missing legs below the knee) that can be inserted via the opening pilot access on the port side. It's armed with a pair of 100 lb bombs.
I hope someone likes this. I love it!

Wow!!!................the condition is JUST as it should be
@100ford2003 The model is from (or by) John Jenkins Designs Inter-war Aviation Collection. I got it from Aikens Airplanes. It's in my 1/32 scale diorama scale so it's pretty good size for aircraft models.
Maybe only Chris will enjoy this, but it IS a diecast.
I do! I do! I love the fact that it's diecast, very cool! 😎 😎  Also, I appreciate that the figure is removable, and I noticed that threaded insert on the bottom, is there a display stand/arm?
I like your model Rich. I have a few diecast airplane models. One of the models I have is a Boeing C17 transport. The Mississippi Air National Guard base uses these. Each year one of the 1/1 clubs I belong to puts on a show to raise money for the base' family relief fund. The model is quite heavy and is made by Gemini in 1/200 scale.
@bob-jackman Besides the 4 German aircraft in those two dioramas, I still have an old Boeing promotional model of the 377 Stratocruiser in MATS livery in probably 1/48 and well as a JU87B Stuka in larger 1/24 scale, a B17G in 1/48, and three '30s diecasts somewhere in the 1/40s... although some day I may stumble onto more ( my place is a disaster. LOL)
@chris I'm trying to get the display base from John Jenkins Designs as Aikens didn't have one to sell. I should know soon.
I like your purchase, but I also collect diecast airplanes. Mine are in 1/48 and 1/72 scale. I purchase most of my airplanes from Aiken Airplanes and have received good service from them.

@rich-sufficool Your place may be a disaster but one I would love to see. I spoke with Bill Bennett the other day and he said to say hi.
I love model airplanes in any scale. When I was in high school at Bolsa Grande High School in Garden Grove California I started there in 1967 and they had an aviation class taught by Mr Tom Rose. He had flown Corsairs and he also had a Waco biplane that he kept at Meadowlark airport in Huntington Beach California and so he would always fly banners up and down the coast you know advertising for coppertone lotion and all kinds of stuff..
In the four years that I was in high school and I always took aviation class with Mr Rose we built a replica of a full size replica of a 1912 Curtis Pusher.Â
These were some of the best four years of my whole life and I'll never regret moving out here from New York going to high school and not knowing anybody and I had the best 4 years of high school that anybody could ever haveÂ
RIP Mr. Rose
