Take your prewar classic. You love the lines... the vintage but cutting edge technology. A car like this Bugatti Atlantic is worth millions. But suppose someone gave me one....

I could certainly admire it in my driveway:

Atlantic 038
Atlantic 010
Atlantic 030 001
Atlantic 051
Atlantic 048

Then I get into the car and What the heck am I looking at? How do I start this thing? What are all those knobs, dials and gauges?

Atlantic 007 001
Atlantic 018
Atlantic 019
Atlantic 008 001

Well I guess I'll need to maintain the engine. Uuuh... how go I check the oil? check the timing? what's a magneto? I can see where to put the antifreeze. I found the spare tire. How and where do I lube the chassis?

Atlantic 020
Atlantic 010
Atlantic 012
Atlantic 013
Atlantic 025
Atlantic 025
Atlantic 024

I don't know... should I just give it back?

Love this model (or art?). Beautiful from any angle (or curve?).

...and yes, you'd have to learn to drive it; it just can't sit.
