Any door is fixable. It might require that you fabricate your own hinge from scratch, though.

Is it possible to get a close-up shot of the broken hinge? It appears the break is on the door. Do you have all the pieces? It's pretty hard to prescribe the method without seeing more detail.

I don't have the car yet - thinking about buying it - so all I have is the picture from the seller - i'll ask for a close up

Truman, it appears that the door hinge has broke (it has "opened up"). Most likely, the door...

...hinge will need replacing or repair. The problem is that this is a 1/24 DM 1932 Cadillac and the door hinges are cast into the mold.

Diecast is VERY brittle. The question is... Why did it break?
-Diecast cancer?
-Opened too far?
-Poor design?

Either/or .... This will be a VERY tricky repair. You could "graft in" a new hinge but color matching paint MUST be kept to a MINIMUM.

Bottom line. This is NOT an easy fix (if it was the seller would've done it already). ONLY buy this model CHEAP!!!

It looks as if all it needs is a hinge pin.

It's hard to tell. I downloaded the pic and tried to blow it up but the res is too low but it may be that the lower part of the hinge on the door is broken.

To me it looks like the upper hinge near the windshield is the broken hinge.

If you haven't purchased it yet, don't.

If the top metal hinge is broken, why try a repair? The way that door is canted, the lower hinge may also be stressed. Any repair might not guarantee proper shut lines.
This is not that expensive or rare of a model.

Truman, I wouldn't pay more than $30.00 and I would assume the door could NOT be fixed. Paying...

...any more for this model doesn't make sense. When you consider MIB examples sell for about $110.00 to $150.00

If/when you repair this model...it will take hours (and hours) of time plus parts (paint, drill bits, epoxy, etc...).

And at the end of the day (although your repair may be first rate) you'll have a "repaired model."

...when for $60 to $75 more you could've started with a MIB example.

I say $30.00 that's it, but of course that's what it would be worth to me. The real question is:

What's it worth to YOU?

Lol...good one! Who needs doors anyway..they're just a hindrance to entering & exiting!

Buy at a reduced price is a given...........

but to be honest for a car like this one - assuming the doors on the other side are good - I'd just glue that one door shut and call it a day.
