I have this car! I like this car! For a 1:18 model, the replication is meticulous. I never saw a REAL version of this car on the road ever, that I can recall, but I'd heard about it and my interest was peaked by the name. When I received the actual model it became an immediate favorite.
1956 CHRYSLER NEW YORKER ST. REGIS
Some REAL CHRYSLER FACTS:
The 1956 Chrysler was a handsomely done facelift of the previous years new look. But this year the tailfins were more pronounced and it featured other updates. Among them were the three-bar-grille on the Windsor's, while the New Yorkers sported a thin-bar-grille pattern. Grille crests also differed between the two styles. Chrysler proclaimed that its new-for-'56 pushbutton transmission controls were "a Chrysler engineering first of major importance".

A gorgeous car, both as a diecast model and as a 1:1!

I'm glad you are enjoying what I bring to the Forum's. As for my coming "over to the 1/18 side of the universe", over the last few years since the 1/24 scale mints have all but dried up, I've dabbled a little with getting 1/18 scale cars. At present I have 20 of them. I'm eyeing up others. Basically, I'm being very selective.
