I took some photos and a video of the ACME and Shelby Collectibles Ken Miles Shelby GT 350. Lane did a version as well.
The ACME version is the most correct of these two and the lane version has several things wrong on it as well.
The Shelby Collectibles is on the left and the ACME is on the right. Detail is better on the ACME you can see where the SC version was sloppy on the tape for the left headlight. Both got the front bumper correct with the round turn signal/running lights, the Lane version had square lights. The paint on the SC version is brighter and the stripes are darker, the ACME version has a darker white and the strips are a lighter blue.
Here is a shot from higher up, the SC version got the font wrong for the numbers on the car, the ACME version has the correct font for the numbers.
The ACME on the left the SC on the right. The ACME version has better detail under the hood but the SC version is not bad, the SC version omitted the oil filter while the ACEM version has the oil filter on the engine.
ACME on the left SC on the right. The ACME got the rear correct with the number on the trunk in the middle and it has the rear bumper, the SC has the number on the right side of the truck which is wrong and it omitted the rear bumper. the SC also has sloppy over spray on the blue stripes on the bottom valence panel. The ACME has the spare tire in the rear of the interior but they did get the rim wrong the car had a standard rim not a mag. The SC omitted the spare tire.
Here is the left and right sides of the cars, the ACME is in the foreground and the SC is in the back ground. The ACME got the side windows right by not having the vent windows or the rearview mirror on the drivers door. The SC car had the vent windows and the rearview mirror on the drivers door, I modified the SC car removing the mirror and cutting out the vent windows. The actual car ran a plexiglass window at the Greenville, Texas race but I suspect the plexiglass was removable, it was a cold day at the Greenville, Texas race that day so they may have been in the car due to the cold weather, the same with the grille block, it was a cold day so they blocked the upper grille for that race to keep engine temps up for the water and oil. The lane version got the side wrong having the left review mirror, the window vents and the Lane have a side scoop behind the doors that was not on the actual car.
The ACME on the left the SC on the right, again the ACME has more detail in the trunk. You can also see the spare tire in the ACME car through the rear window and see it is missing in the SC version.
Here are a couple of photos of the bottom, the SC on the left and the ACME on the right in the first photo, the second photo is the ACME and the third photo is the SC, again ACME has more detail to the components and even has over spray.
Overall the ACME is the most accurate of the three versions that have been done of this car, both the SC version and the Lane version had more misses on them.
Here is a video of the two cars, the Shelby Collectible is the brighter white with darker blue stripes and the ACME is the darker white with lighter blue stripes.
The bright white is indeed incorrect - the real cars that year that were supplied to Shelby American were Wimbledon White. I have to laugh, one of the first 'custom' projects I ever did was this car way back in 2004 - it has taken all this time - and a movie - to finally get the car done mostly correct out of the box.
The Shelby Collectibles car even with the incorrect issues and some of the sloppy tape on the left headlight and paint on the rear valence panel is still a nice looking car. The price point of these two cars reflects the difference in quality and detail as well, the SC was $89.99 and the ACME is $134.99.
Overall I think the ACME version is a nice one to add to any collection over the Shelby Collectibles version.
