Know anything about boats?

The boats I dealt with had two motors, fully redundant systems, and were quite a bit bigger.  It is a cute little thing, though.

Very good looking boat ! All trailered up and ready to go.

All I know about boats is that they are "Holes in the water that you throw money into."

We have owned a fleet of kayaks but real boats are mysteries to me. I DO know that your model is COOL and I like it!!

I would also suggest she is meant for calm waters, not the high seas.

Right, "money pits that float,"  or "B ust O ut  A nother T housand."    🙄 🙄   Like pools, it's better to know someone with a boat than to own one yourself.    😉 😉    Although I know about pools.    I had them my entire life until 2018, when I contracted to have my kidney-shaped inground removed.  After decades of dealing with pools, I had enough!     But I couldn't just fill it in, the city mandated that the entire cement structure be excavated & hauled away.      Oh gee, what a fun  project that was!  😬 😬 😬

Anyway.....   back to this 1/18 motorboat.    I've since Googled  and as I suspected, based on the name and that tiny flag on the stern, that this is an iconic Italian boat popular in Europe in the 1960's & early '70's.    I was hoping for more of an American connection.    

I know Ertl made a few 1/18 fishing boats many years ago, but they're a bit toyish.     From what I can tell, this Mitica Riva Junior is fairly accurate.

@gdh ....sadly, neither - nor anything close - is commercially available in 1/18.     I have several 1/18 trailers: utility, towing, camper, horse, etc...       but no boat (yet ).    Sure would be nice.....    🤔 🤔 🤔 

@chris   If you want to go gung-ho, this would be the one to get, a Venice water taxi, custom built, and the best ones cost 250K:

I used to rent boats to go to Catalina Island from Long Beach.  Renting is soooooooooo much easier than owning.  Same with RVs.  

I get sea-sick by even looking at boats.

@joop ...that's too bad.   I have zero fear of water, boats, etc...         "Heights?"   😳 😳   Now, that's another story!    Like you, I become "quoooozy"  just looking at pictures of cliffs, edges of mountains, etc...     🤢 🤢 🤮

If I could, I would spend my life on the water.
