Picked this up from Steve (@100ford2003) a few years back. This Deep Sea Blue was only available as Dealer Edition & in my opinion, was by far the best color combo available. Nicely done model, as are most Kyosho BMWs from this era. The folding hardtop is really well executed.
with its predecessors (E37 M Roadster by UT, E85 Z4 2.5i by Maisto)
Thanks Gavin 👍
Very nice pics. You're making me regret letting it go. However, I just noticed that it lacks tire valve stems 🤣
I recall that Kyosho produce several BMW convertible models with articulating hard tops, just WHY I passed on a few, over the years, is a mystery. This one looks amazing!
It was Chris. I got it from a former Zone member that lived near Palm Springs. I think he may have received the model for review but I can't remember his name. He had some kind of issue with the Zone. I believe I acquired the model before 2004 judging by where I was living at the time. I had so many 1/18 in storage so I was glad to be able to let some go to other collectors. If I remember correctly I sold almost 90 models on the Zone's auction site. And I still have a few models boxed and ready to ship from bid winners who never contacted me after their bids won. My auction fees were paid of course.
Great model but so are the pics. BEATIFUL!
Thank you guys. Glad you enjoyed it.
@chris...Kyosho also did the E93 Convertible versions of both the 330i & M3. I passed on those, since I already had the Coupes.
Even the Maisto 325 convertible with the working top was a pretty good model IMO.

@gavin Right, not too bad... I've never seen this model - I'm only so-so familiar with UT products; I only have a few.
I forgot about that model. I had it in yellow. Quite nice for the price ! Kay-Bee Toy Stores were like Christmas morning to me ! Especially their outlet store here in the city of Commerce off of the NB 5 Freeway in SoCal. That's about halfway btwn D'land and Dodger Stadium give or take a few miles. The Citadel, as it's called, was a tire manufacturing plant years ago. Google it for more info. Pretty fascinating. Steve
