Yesterday, I picked up the last of the models from the estate sale that I purchased last month.  You might recall that I acquired a ton of large-scale models from an avid large-scale collector's estate.  I've lost count, but I think the total is between 40 and 45.  Most of them are large-scale 1:8, but there were a few 1:12 and 1:18 models.  I've decided to keep at least 5 of them.  I might add one or two more from these.

1:8 SCALE

The blue Shelby Cobra is an Agora kit that the collector built.  It features a ton of extra personalized customization.  That model MIGHT be a keeper.  The other possible keeper is the Ferrari F40 #40 racecar.  The collector also added a detail kit that features hundreds of photoetched parts, providing extraordinary detail and realism to the model.  My problem is I literally have no clue where I'd display these models.  The Big Boss is already "lightly" complaining because I have four large-scale models in our master bedroom.  As a result, the future of those models is uncertain. Note the bedroom photos of the 1:8 Agora Porsche 917 and Pocher Lamborghini Aventador, and the 1:12 Kyosho Shelby Cobra and DM '56 Corvette.

I doubt I'll keep the remaining two Ferraris.  I already have an F40 (it's in a cabinet in my garage), and since space is a premium, the 312 T4 Formula 1 car will likely have to go, as well.

1:12 & 1:18 SCALE

All of these will be sold.  I already have the CMC Mercedes Pullman in my collection, so no need for that.  The 1:18 NASCAR, funny car, and the 1:12 scale Ferrari GTO will all likely go as well.

Once I decide what to do with these models, and a few others that I still haven't sold yet, this project has turned out to be a far bigger challenge than I initially thought it would be.  Initially, I never imagined how difficult this entire journey would be.  Many of the kits were especially challenging because the collector began building them.  Something I never did, he had a habit of having several projects going simultaneously.  The problem was that when selling the models on eBay, I had to determine if any of the parts were missing.  With models that had as many as 900 parts, you can imagine what a daunting task that was.  With some, I had to disclose that I was uncertain of their completeness.  Frankly, I'm glad this is all coming to an end.  I'm questioning myself if I knew in advance when I started that I would go through what I did, would I still have purchased these models?  I'm unsure about the answer to that, too!  LOL!  😜

You're a good man Charlie Brown!    I know this was a daunting task, but you handled it professionally and with respect; your friend would be proud.  I'm glad you decided to keep (purchase ) a few choice replicas for yourself; why not?      But come 'on man, get those models out of the bedroom!  😯 😯 😯
