The semi-retired orthopedic surgeon in the group next door to my office was at the stage in life where he could indulge himself with an eclectic collections of vehicles. He had a Ferrari that he couldn't drive worth a damn, crunching the gears and burning the clutch going up the incline of the driveway. He also would take a vintage Land Rover Defender to work that had every parabellum option on it save for a top mounted .50 cal machine gun. These Defenders kept their WWll styling cues (well actually 1948) until 2016 when it was discontinued for a bit to return with modern styling. This 2000 Land Rover Defender TD5 110 is one of four Land Rover made for the Lara Croft "Tomb Raider" movie. All came with a 135 HP 3.5 liter petrol V8 and 4 speed automatic transmission. The styling here still reminds me of the "Rat Patrol" TV series.
I chose this AUTOart movie car model just because it has all kind of cool accessories and cargo on it.
Darn cool as it can be! But I gotta tell you. I'd mount a 1/18th Browning 50 cal on that baby!
@perrone1 I agree Tony....it would be great for getting through heavy traffic and deterring would-be road ragers.
Detail, detail, and, oh yeah..... more detail! Being a lover of detail, I look at that silver/gray beauty and almost forget nothing opens. But of course, the argument would be, "Who cares?"
- I can easily envision your colleague grinding gears on a six-figure Ferrari. 🙄 🙄
And yes, post WWII Land Rovers are cool! 😎 😎
