More detail for Alan Wright and the Ferrari crest
Enzo befriended the parents of Count Enrico Baracca. He was an Italian World War One flying ace with 34 victories. He also raced cars. he was shot down and killed near the end of the war. Enzo loved his accomplishments, and the stories Baracca's parents, the count and Countess told him. He said the Countess asked him to put her son's prancing horse emblem on his cars for good luck.
Baracca's military history was steeped in Cavalry and riding traditions, and the prancing horse emblem on the side of his plane, was an homage to that.
Ferrari said he added the black prancing horse from Baracca's aircraft to the yellow back ground which was the color of Modena Italy. and Added the S and F for Scuderia Ferrari, and of course the stripes denoting the colors in the Italian national flag.

Yeah, that's pretty- much what I read, plus a few extra details!...
... The article I read left out the parts about Enzo's contributions to the crest, although I was previously aware that he had added the "S" and the "F."
Very interesting story! Thanks, Chris!
