Hi, folks! Do any of you have any experience with "Quartzo" models??...
... I've been considering one of their black and gold "John Player Special" Lotuses and I'm just wondering how detailed and accurate they are.
Thanks for any information!
Alan, Quartzo are a long established model car maker.
They have made 1:43 scale model cars since 1982, along with their sister company, Vitesse, and specialise in rally and F1 cars. They were a Portuguese company originally, but now belong to Sun Star.
They branched out into 1:18 F1 Loti about 15 years ago from memory and have concentrated on the 49 and 72. As the years have gone by they have up-dated and improved them.
Classic Team Lotus promote and sell their models - so they can't be too bad!
If you buy a 72, be sure to get a Ronnie Peterson 72E as he was a master at racing this car.

Exoto used to make 72s as well. They're only available now through the after market and depending on which one you choose you can be heavily into the arm and a leg problem!!

Actually, Paul, all Exoto models cause me arm and leg problems...
... The reason that I want this model is that I had a small Corgi version of the car when I was a kid and I loved that thing! I'm not really an F1 fan, but an "adult" version of that car in my collection would be great!
Thanks again!
Corgi made a 1:18 version of that Lotus72 as well....it was my first 1:18, a gift from my uncle in 1977. Still have it.
Driven by Emmerson Fittipaldi.
Never sure why they made a 1:18 Lotus and McLaren and then produced no more.
