@chris

Just to jump in here, this is accurate.

We do have many of the original boxes, I never thought to grab pictures of what was there, but will do so the next time I am able.

I will say, the number of boxes is fairly extensive, I think in any case where the boxes could be saved, they were, so he likely had boxes for most of his cars.

I do not necessarily expect the boxes to be in pristine condition, but I'll know more when I go and take another look.

Every reply here has been awesome, thanks to everyone for helping!

@zunni

. I just read your post . Please accept my sincere condolences over your loss. I live in Hamilton, Ontario and in the past had a large collection of 1/18 scale models. I sold off about 200 of them and switched to 1/43 scale. I sold all of them  on Kijiji Toronto. A lot more people look at Kijiji Toronto and you can pickup interest from Mississauga, Oakville and Burlington. I would often meet the buyer somewhere in Oakville. I would also consider Marketplace. Note that this will take a lot more time to take pictures,list, write a listing and sell individually but you will get more for the collection this way. I would also point out that the valuations given in this forum are probably in US dollars. Realize that the Canadian equivalent is 40% higher. It might be worth looking at the sell price of each model on Ebay.ca to get a value. Forget listing them on Ebay. I have sold 1/43 scale on Ebay and with Trump's tariffs, selling to the US has dried up. In the past, about 95% of my buyers for 1/43 were in the US.

If you want to sell the entire collection at once to a reseller, you will definitely get substantially less. I know of only one person who might be interested although he specializes in 1/43 sales. If you want, I can email him and he can checkout your pictures above. Let me know by your reply on this forum if you are interested.

Another possibility is to rent a table ($50-75) at one of the Toy & Collectible Expo at Marritt Hall, Ancaster Fair Grounds. The next one is February 1st. I believe they are held bi-monthly. If you price the models fairly, you should have good results.
